Layer 01

Field

The first place you register the world around you, before an experience becomes a thought, feeling, or story. Some theories describe this as a field of consciousness or a quantum mind. You might experience it as Source, the One, or divine intelligence: the larger field of information and connection from which your individual experience emerges.

Layer 02

Nervous System

Information taken in at the field level translates into stored patterns that shape how you respond, often without conscious thought. 95% of what we do runs on these subconscious patterns. When they work, we don’t notice them. When they don’t, we feel friction. Friction is a message that something in your current way of responding is ready to change.

Layer 03

Emotions

The patterns held by the nervous system become visceral, embodied responses expressed through your physiology and biochemistry, involving neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, and receptors throughout the body. The emotional layer is where these responses become consciously felt as emotion, sensation, and felt experience.

Layer 04

Thoughts

Here, experience becomes thought. The mind organizes what you have sensed, felt, and experienced into interpretations, beliefs, expectations, and stories that help you make sense of the world. These internal narratives shape how you understand what is happening and how you respond to it.

Layer 05

Identity

Over time, repeated experiences, beliefs, and patterns become woven into your sense of self. This is where ideas about who you are, how you relate to others, and the role you occupy in the world begin to take shape. What starts as a pattern can eventually feel like a fixed identity, shaping what you believe is possible for you.

Each layer continually influences the others, creating a dynamic system with ongoing potential for change, adaptation, and growth.
